Education is no exception. Used responsibly, AI has the capacity to individualize learning, assist teachers and prep students for success in the workplace. But its implementation, however, raises significant ethical and practical concerns as well.<\/p>\n\n<p>At Shreshta International School, we believe AI in education should be implemented purposefully, responsibly, and with human values at the forefront. This blog considers the hurdles to integrating AI, and how we have been actively working on preparing our school for its use.<\/p>\n\n<h4>The Promise of AI in Education.<\/h4>\n\n<p>AI can also really enhance learning in many important ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Personalized Learning Paths: AI tools can tailor course material to each learner's ability, and in areas that require growth.<\/li>\n<li>Teacher Support: Automated assessment, analytics, and content recommendations can take administration down and give teachers more time to mentor and plan creative work.<\/li>\n<li>Skill Development: Students learn critical thinking, digital literacy, and problem-solving skills early in their careers, all which are key features of AI.<\/li>\n<li>Inclusivity in education: Adaptive tools and language-assistance services through AI aid special education students with disabilities.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>And while these positives are promising, they're weighed alongside real concerns.<\/p>\n\n<h4>Ethics and AI in Education.<\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>Data Privacy and Security: AI systems also depend on student data to operate properly. It's important, when working with children, that this data is collected, stored and used responsibly, and ethically.<\/li>\n<li>Bias and Fairness: Using AI tools that are trained on biased data can, unwittingly, reinforce inequalities. Students will not learn how to consume: rather than passively consume.<\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Ways AI works (Age-appropriate understanding).<\/li>\n\t<li>Its benefits and limitations.<\/li>\n\t<li>Ethical considerations and real-world applications.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This helps students become responsible creators, rather than just consumers of technology. Balanced, Holistic Education. AI integration will complement:<\/p>\n<ul>\n\t<li>Experiential learning.<\/li>\n\t<li>Sports &amp; physical education.<\/li>\n\t<li>Art, creativity and life skills.<\/li>\n\t<li>Values-based learning, education and social responsibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h4>Preparing students for the future\u2014the right way.<\/h4>\n<p>The future will require not only technical competency, but moral judgment, adaptability and human compassion.
